STAG PENDANT £39.00 Finally a pendant for the men. In Celtic tradition it was usual for the Men to don the skin of a freshly killed Stag at Beltain (May Day Eve) and prove themselves as a hunter. Then they would make love with a virgin female from the tribe, thus re-populating the tribe for the coming year. Cattle were also driven between two large bonfires in order to purify and cleanse the cattle for the coming year. Beltain is a time of fertility and abundance. Beltain is still celebrated as a festival in Ednburgh once a year on Calton Hill. Well worth a visit.
